Videography & Hybrid Coverage
With video and the option to 'watch' your wedding day back afterwards something more and more couples are looking to do, I am now offering what is known as hybrid wedding coverage. This is a combination of photography and videography, undertaken at the same time, without having to hire an additional dedicated videographer. This option is great if you are looking for a little something extra beyond just photos of your wedding day, but perhaps don't have the budget for a full blown videography package.
I am now offering films of the ceremony and/or speeches, which feature audio using portable recording devices. Or, if you are looking for something really special, why not opt for a wedding highlight film, showcasing the entire day in a short 3-5 minute video. This highlight film will combine recorded audio and music, and will also include the full ceremony and speeches films as separate files as part of the price. Two photographers are required for the highlight film to ensure no gaps in the photography coverage - eg as part of my Kilimanjaro and Everest wedding collections.
Please note these three films are only available as an 'add-on' service to one of my wedding photography collections. They are NOT available to book as standalone offerings for your wedding day.
Highlight Film - £595
A short 3-5 minute 'teaser trailer' style movie with recorded audio and music, the highlight film combines many short video clips from the day, before being edited and put together. The music used can be your first dance song, another favourite song of yours, or royalty-free romantic music to best fit the mood of the wedding day. Delivered in full HD, or upgrade to 4K for £75.
Ceremony Film - £175
By placing a stationary camera at the end of the aisle, or at the front of the ceremony area (depending on the space available), a full video of the wedding ceremony can be recorded. There is no additional music overlay, with the audio provided by high quality portable recording devices given to the couple and the officiants before the ceremony. Delivered in full HD, or upgrade to 4K for £25.
Speeches Film - £175
By placing a stationary camera in the reception room with a clear view of the top table, a full video of the wedding speeches can be recorded. There is no additional music overlay, with audio provided by high quality portable recording devices given to those who will be speaking, or connected to an audio mixer if using a microphone and PA system. Delivered in full HD, or upgrade to 4K for £25.
Dedicated Videographer
It's important to realise that, despite photography specific cameras being capable of very good video quality, they sometimes lack the features that dedicated video cameras may have. It's also worth noting that the ceremony/speeches films outlined above are recorded on unmanned cameras. If there is a dramatic change in the lighting of the scene, or a guest moves in the way of the camera once it has been set up, this can mean the resulting footage becomes less usable during editing. Likewise, as the clips for the highlight film are taken between conventional still photographs, during fast-paced parts of the day there may be a compromise of coverage of one aspect in order to accommodate the other.
If you place a greater value on having your wedding photographed AND filmed to a high standard, then my suggestion would be to hire a dedicated videographer for your day. This way there are no compromises made, with their equipment chosen for its video capabilities, and their skills aimed at creating a more rounded end product.
