I'm lucky to have a number of pretty seaside towns just a short drive away, and Deal is no exception! Phoebe wanted some natural photos of her, her parents and her 4 bridesmaids getting ready before they headed to the church, so I arrived at her house in good time and got some lovely photos of them all in the garden having fun, as well as some individual ones of Phoebe in her vintage lace dress. Her dad got a bit emotional while this was going on, but the smiles were soon back after a lovely tender hug.
Leaving Phoebe and her family to finish preparing I headed to the community church as guests were beginning to arrive and the stage was being set up. You don't often find a band present at church ceremonies, so I was looking forward to what they had in store for the guests. It wasn't long before the bridal party arrived and the ceremony got under way.
With lots of readings, hymns, songs and prayers, the ceremony was pretty involved, with close friends og Dann and Phoebe giving their contributions and praise for the couple, before they signed the register and sealed the marriage with a kiss. Out on the steps there was a a good dollop of confetti thrown before everyone started walking into town along the High Street to the reception venue.
Just before heading into the Astor Theatre for the reception, I took those involved in the group photos around the corner to the gardens behind St George's church, as it was one of the only large green spaces nearby to do this part of the day. The wedding party struck some great poses towards the end too - I knew this was a fun-loving bunch!
The theatre had been decorated beautifully, with some lovely touches throughout the light and airy open areas and into the main theatre hall. Again a band was set up on the stage for the speeches and dances later on. As the sun was starting to set after a buffet style wedding breakfast, I took Dann and Phoebe out for a wander around the quaint back streets of Deal and out onto the pier for some photos of just the two of them.
Back at the Astor, the speeches got underway, long with a game of Mr & Mrs before the cake was cut. The first dance followed shortly afterwards, and whilst all the guests gave Dann and Phoebe space for this, as soon as the band kicked in the dancefloor was swamped with people! There was a great atmosphere now and it was difficult to leave as there was such good opportunities for dancing photos.
This was a great wedding by the seaside, and it's clear that Dann and Phoebe have an awesome bunch of friends.
