Sevenoaks and Kent Countryside Summer Fusion Wedding with Ed & Shalini

Still to this day one of the most fun weddings I've been a part of, and with so many guests it's no wonder than Denise from OneLovePictures asked me to be her second shooter for the day, as there was just so much going on, she would have no doubt missed a lot of it had she been on her own!

I was charged with covering the groom preparations in the morning, so arrived at the expansive farm home of Ed, where he and his friends were having more fun than getting ready, with outdoor table football and pedal-powered go karts to keep everyone amused. After putting the finishing touches to speeches and some group photos, I headed into Sevenoaks to capture the guests arriving at the church.

St Thomas of Canterbury RC church may have had a minimalist appearance, but was decorated elegantly, and it wasn't long before all the guests were seated and awaiting Shalini's arrival, with the bridesmaids and groomsman outside keeping an eye out. Admittedly she did arrive a little late, but it's good to keep the groom on his toes a little bit!

After the ceremony there was what can only be described as the most epic of confetti throws I think I've ever seen - it was everywhere, and just amazing to photograph. Then everyone began to head back to Ed's parent's farm, where an enourmous marquee had been erected on the tennis court with room for what must have been 150-200 guests. As this was a bit of an Asian fusion wedding (Shalini is of Sri Lankan descent), there were lots of extended family members attending - hence the size of the marquee.

But before everyone was seated for the meal, there was lots of drinks to be had, and even a ceremonial entrance for the bride and groom who were preceeded by traditional dancers and musicians, many of whom performed acrobatics for the guests as well. Ed and Shalini then made their way to light a tower or candles before the meal. Needless to say the speeches were just as epic as well.

As the sun started to go down, we decided to do some final group photos in the beautiful golden light, but by this stage as everyone was pretty tipsy, and well you can see the results of this for yourself! A black cab had also pulled up outside the marquee, which was in fact a photo booth in disguise - what a great idea! Back inside the band was getting warmed up, and it wasn't long before everyone was on the dancefloor for the remainder of the evening. What a great day this was!
