Lympne Castle Kent Countryside Summer Wedding with Joe & Hailey

After organising a styled wedding shoot at Lympne Castle last year, I was really excited to be going back to this gorgeous venue for an actual wedding, and Joe & Hailey's big day certainly didn't disappoint! Unlike my styled shoot, they opted for a summer wedding - and it was a scorcher!

I arrived towards the end of bridal preparations, as Hailey wasn't overly fussed about having this part of the day covered, but I did sneak in a few photos having her makeup done and of the dress and the bridesmaids. The grounds of Lympne Castle looked spectacular in the sunshine, with the red carpet already laid out for the outdoor ceremony.

With guests arriving and being greeted by Joe and his best man, it wasn't long before the ceremony began. Joe even tearing up a little as Hailey was being walked down the aisle by her dad which a lovely moment (guys, it's ok to get emotional!) After tying the knot, the happy couple led the way back to the courtyard whilst being showered with confetti for some reception drinks.

Group photos followed, before everyone headed back inside to sit down for the meal in the great hall, which has been beautifully decorated in pastel tones of pink, peach and cream. The tables were all named in honour of their home towns or significant and favourite holiday destinations for the couple - a lovely touch. There were lots of tears during the speeches, with Joe's dad giving his son a big hug, and the best man being gifted a wedding football shirt.

As the sun sets later in the summer, I suggested holding off on the couples photos until now to get the most of th golden hour light, and it was just beautiful. We took the time to wander the grounds and got some stunning photos of the two of them as the sun set. But before it was time to dance, Hailey got everyone outside for the bouquet toss, with one of her bridesmaids being the lucky catcher!

Back inside, Joe and Hailey hit the dancefloor for their first dance, and it wasn't long before everyone else was joining in on the action, with Hailey's dad even having a moment to himself and a pretty captive audience. This was a great way to end the day as the sun finally set over the Kent countryside. Lympne Castle is super local to me, and one of my favourite venues.
