Mote Park Autumn Sunset Engagement Session with Sam & Steven

I've known Sam for a number of years, so I was delighted when she contacted me after seeing my posts on Twitter expressing an interest in booking me for her wedding in the spring. So Sam, Steven and myself headed to Mote Park near Maidstone one Sunday evening in October to take advantage of the golden hour light and the beautiful autumn colours for their engagement session.

Golden hour is that hour or so before the sun sets that is favoured by a lot of photographers for one main reason - the soft glowing light! We had some clouds about too, but these only helped create some dappled light as the sun went down, giving the whole park a really warm glow, making the autumnal colours stand out even more.

Understandably, Sam and Steven were a little nervous to begin with, but after a while they got into the swing of things. I was always on hand to offer direction and advice when needed, but for engagement sessions I always try to encourage natural interactions with eachother, rather than always looking towards the camera.

This was such a fun evening, and these two really were naturals by the end. I can't wait for their wedding next April - I just know it's going to be amazing! If you'd like to arrange your own engagement session, remember you can get a discount on one by booking one of my three 'full day' wedding collections.
