Mote Park Kent Winter Fashion and Lifestyle Portrait Session with Emily

The winter months are often a quiet time for me, as most of the weddings I photograph tend to be in the summer (although this year my last one was on the 23rd December!) So it's a great time to get out and practice some portraiture skills, and for this portrait session in Mote Park near Maidstone I got together with Emily for some winter fashion and lifestyle portraits.

It was quite a grey overcast day, so I used this opportunity to bring in some flash to add a bit more pop and vibrancy to the photos. Despite this additional of artificial light, the photos still look amazingly natural. The idea of good flash use is to make it look like it wasn't even used - and that's exactly the look I was going for

Emily had two great looks lined up, moving from a long white jumper/dress and boots to a classic look with jeans and a black top with a mix of accessories. Her mum was also on hand to help when needed, and she was great at being my lighting assistant too.

Sessions like these just to to show that even in the middle of winter you can make the most of any location with the right skills and knowhow. If you'd like to organise your own outdoor summer photo session amongst some wildflowers, head over to my portrait photography page for more details, or get in touch here to enquire.
