With weddings few and far between during the winter months, I like to use this time to do more creative projects for myself, meet new people and practice some new techniques that I can then use with my couples during the spring, summer and autumn.
I got together with Charlotte on a chilly day at the edge of Canterbury for what was to be a pretty epic session, lasting a good 6 hours! We took advantage of the good weather and visited a series of scenic and tourist spots around the city for some winter fashion and lifestyle shots. I wanted to incorporate some flash to add a bit more lighting as it was a bit grey and overcast at times, and I think it really compliments the natural light.
Charlotte was incredibly patient during the day, and her strong dance and ballet background made an appearance too with a few choice poses! It was great to meet someone new and try out something different, and having so long to work with the same person means they can get really relaxed and contribute to the creative process as well.
Photos like this really show what can be done at any time of year with a bit of knowhow. If you're looking to have your own portrait session around Kent, head over to my portrait photography page for details and prices, or get in contact for a chat.
