The Romney Marsh is one of those places in Kent that succeeds in feeling quite remote yet so close to everything else, and has a surreal beauty to it. Herons Park is a small residential community on the marsh, that Rob & Sarah call their home. Surrounded by fields and lakes, it's a truly beautiful place not just to live, but also to get married!
Rob & Sarah hired out the Herons Park Venue for their big day, and it seemed the obvious place given they live barely a few minutes walk away. They opted for my Mont Blanc collection, and asked for more coverage of the evening instead of having either of their morning preparations photographed. Having both been married before, bridal/groom prep was less of a priority for them, though Sarah ended up asking for a few quick bridal portraits in the 'getting ready room' before the ceremony.
It was another beautifully sunny day, and after the ceremony everyone was soon back outside soaking up the rays while I took care of the group photos, and the BBQ buffet was prepared on some outdoor grills. With the food ready, it was back inside for the wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches. Afterwards, instead of having a served dessert course, an ice cream van rocked up where everyone had tokens for the treat of their choice - such a brilliant idea!
With the sun finally starting to go down and golden hour starting, I persuaded Rob & Sarah to go for a short wander into the next field for some lovely photos of the two of them. They did really well to fight through the awkwardness, as I know having your photo taken can be a little awkward at times. It wasn't long before the evening got under way, and the dancefloor was buzzing after their first dance. This was a great end to a lovely day for these two lovebirds.
