With Ceri & Rob having their wedding arranged for the middle of May, they were keen to squeeze in their engagement session sometime in the spring, so we took a chance on a surprisingly mild and sunny day in early March. I always like to research some great locations for engagement sessions, and I found a real hidden gem not too far from where they live. Wat Tyler Country Park, just a stone's throw from Basildon in Essex, proved to be a great spot for the afternoon, with plenty of quiet spots where they could be themselves.
Engagement sessions are also a great opportunity to catch up with my couples ahead of their wedding, and sometimes even meet in person for the first time. As usual, we started with a quick posing crash course to get Ceri & Rob in the right mindset, before we headed off to explore the country park in the early spring sunshine.
Like most of my couples, Ceri & Rob took a little while to get used to the idea of being photographed, but they eased into it pretty quickly and you can really see the love and affection they obviously have for each other shining through as we went through the session. This is what an engagement session is all about, being yourselves in a beautiful location and having fun in the process.
There were plenty of shady wooded paths and open fields, which made for a lovely variety of photos for them when receiving their online gallery. They even chose to order one of my beautifully designed wedding signing books to display at their wedding later in the year.
If you'd like to arrange your own engagement session, remember you can get a discount on one or even a complimentary session by booking one of my three 'full day' wedding collections.
