Styled shoots can be tricky to organise, with so many suppliers having to come together on the same day to provide key elements for the day to be a success. After organising the previous styled bridal/wedding shoot at Nurstead Court, it was nice to have this one taken out of my hands a little - but I knew I wanted to be on board as the photographer. This time the theme was going to be a St Clements styled shoot. lots of vibrant bright colours that perfectly match with the end of summer.
I hadn't long been home from a short holiday to Dubai when this shoot rolled around. Thankfully it wasn't too far away, just outside Ashford in Kent. The venue was a newly renovated barn as part of a small farm. The idea was to eventually use the barn and surrounding grounds as a wedding and event venue. With rustic or barn style weddings now especially popular, we all wanted to capitalise on this space and give it a bit of personality.
There were a number of key suppliers and vendors present from the previous styled shoot, as well as some newcomers too. It was a pretty jam-packed day, and I found myself busy for most of it, with elements to photograph outside and inside - from the amazing VW campervan, to table arrangements, seating areas and details. We even had two distinct looks, starting with a flowing boho dress, to a more traditional lace outfit and veil to match.
Lea was a great model for the day, despite not much experience, and even without a 'groom' present it was a great way to showcase some colour and style, as well as the lovely little venue we had to use. I love my wedding photography to have a bright and airy feel, and really enjoy all those little details that make the experience all come together.
