I've known Maria for a few years now, having met her volunteering for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in Kent, and she has been over in the UK working on her teaching qualifications. After she finished and before she headed back to Spain to start a more permanent job, she got in touch with me to organise a portrait session for herself.
This was a lovely idea that she felt in such a good position mentally and physically that she wanted something to remember her good times in the UK, and a time when she was in a good place in her life - ready to start a new chapter. We had a great time catching up in the beautiful Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells late one afternoon while capturing some lovely images that really show off her bubbly, fun personality.
Whilst she was a little nervous at first, as most people are who aren't used to being photographed, we soon settled into the swing of things as I talked her through my work method and taught her some poses and techniques to use. She even brought some props to use which really helped her relax and gain confidence!
The late afternoon and early dusky light really helped to give these images some pop - you can see why it's called 'golden hour'. If you'd like to arrange your very own portrait session, head over to my portrait photography page for pricing and some more information, or get in touch here to discuss your ideas.
