The Mill at Elstead, Surrey Summer Wedding with Chris & Bethany

On one of the warmest weekends of 2022, Chris & Bethany kicked off two back to back weddings with their fun-packed and super colourful day at The Mill at Elstead, in the heart of Surrey. I was helped by Zoe, who was my second photographer for the day.

Starting in Godalming for Bethany and the girls getting ready, there was a really chill atmosphere as I began with the details and dresses, before moving back inside out of the sun as everyone had their hair and makeup done, while Bethany's sister finished off her speech for later. Soon before everyone was ready to leave, Bethany and her dad's ride arrived in form of a beautifully decorated VW beetle!

Back at the Mill at Elstead, Chris and the boys were sorting some last minute decorations and details, but still had some time for a bit of groom prep with Zoe before guests began to arrive. Inside the ceremony room, there were bright and vibrant paper streamers hanging from the wooden beams, adding a pop of colour to proceedings as Bethany & the bridal party arrived.

After the ceremony and a great confetti line-up outside the pub, there was time to chill out and grab some photos with the cute little wedding car, before some group photos in the sunshine. Opting to leave the couples photos for later, it was soon time for the wedding breakfast. Back inside, the tables maintained the same bright and vibrant feel, with some rustic details too. After the meal, the speeches got underway with plenty of smiles, laughs, embarrassing stories and some tears as well.

With the sun now setting and the temperature more comfortable, I took Chris & Bethany for a wander around the grounds so we could get some beautiful golden hour photos. The light was super dreamy and just perfect for couples photos, making sure to get them back as their evening guests began to arrive. It wasn't long before it was time for the cake cut and first dance, with the same vibrancy and colour as the rest of the day! This was a fantastic end to the day and, had I not had another wedding the day after, I might have stayed longer and had a bit of a dance myself.
