This was my first visit to the Ferry House Inn (and I think the Isle of Sheppey as well) for Frank and Jade's wedding, and after hearing so many good things about this venue, I wasn't disappointed! As a former ferry house, it sits on the north shore of the Swale looking across at the north Kent coastline, where the opposite crossing point is just north of Faversham. The Ferry House Inn is really tucked away, and offers the perfect spot for weddings all year round, with stunning views and a rural setting that will no doubt appeal to lots of people!
I was second shooting for Mykey Day Photography for this wedding, and it wasn't long before we bumped into Frank and Jade getting ready (separately, of course!) We also found out that Jade was going to announce her pregnancy at the wedding, with her dress proudly showing off her bump, so it ended up being a doubly special occasion. We had a lot of fun with the groomsmen and bridesmaids before the wedding, and it wasn't long before everyone began to arrive ahead of the ceremomy.
The sun was in and out through the day, but you could feel the summer warmth, with everyone enjoying the fresh air and cocktails. Inside there were floral touches everywhere for the reception, and an amazing display around the wedding cake, with bite-size chocolate goodies and fresh berries everywhere - it looked incredible!
The adjacent marque held the dancefloor and bar, and the live band had a great vibe, with some real hits being played to get everyone up and dancing, even the kids. This was a great summer wedding and just lots of fun at a really stunning little venue. I hope I'll be back here before too long.
