There was a definite change in the air now, as autumn really begins in earnest. The weather gets a more unpredictable as well, and this was something me and my second photographer Rosanna had to adapt to for Jordan & Jade's wedding day at the Danson Boathouse, on the edge of a sweeping park in Bexleyheath, on the borders of Kent and Greater London.
With Jordan & Jade getting ready in vastly different places, it was really useful having two photographers on hand today, as they were keen to have both sides documented in the morning. There was a really chilled atmosphere for Jade and the girls as they got ready, with one of the bridesmaid's daughters the flower girl for the day who just looked adorable in her dress! With everyone ready in good time, we managed to do a lovely first look with Jade's dad, and some bridal portraits before everyone headed off to the venue.
Over with Jordan, his parents and best man joined him getting ready, and Rosanna was able to make use of the garden for some really lovely and natural photos, before a few group photos of everyone together. It wasn't long before they all headed to The Boathouse, as guests began to arrive and gather outside before being let upstairs to the ceremony area while waiting for Jade and the bridal party.
After the ceremony, and the clouds looming, we headed outside with everyone to brave the wind for some quick group photos, followed by some couples photos with just Jordan & Jade as everyone else went back inside and the warm. There was just enough time to take the two of them down to the side of the lake to say hello to the ducks and geese, a short walk and a sit on a bench nearby, and a bit of fun with Jade's veil, before the heavens decided to open on us.
Back inside the bar was buzzing as everyone sheltered from the weather before sitting down for the wedding breakfast. Jordan & Jade opted for a more laid back buffet for their meal, which went down well with the younger guests in attendance! Afterwards, the speeches got underway, with even Jade opting to give a speech before her and Jordan got up to cut their cake.
This lull in the evening provided a great opportunity to prepare for the first dance, particularly as Jordan & Jade had planned a properly choreographed routine! While I set up some lights Rosanna was buys grabbing lots of candids of the couple and their guests, before they took to the dancefloor as everyone else looked on. You can really tell they put alot of planning into their first dance, and it was met with huge applause before everyone else joined them for a boogie.
As the night drew to a close, and the weather improving vastly, I persuaded Jordan & Jade to pop outside briefly for a few night time photos in front of the illuminated front of their venue. I felt this was a good way of boosting their number of couples photos, given the rain cut things a bit short earlier in the day. This was a great end to the evening and their wedding coverage before I packed up and headed home.
