Richmond Park Spring Maternity Session with Vicky & George

Vicky & George were one of my couples that married in 2017. They had a really small celebration with a ceremony at Kingston Registry Office and a low key reception and photos at and near a restaurant at Hampton Court Palace. Despite it being a really small wedding, I got a great vibe from them both and we all had a lot of fun creating some really lovely images for them both.

Although they had their legal UK ceremony here, they also had a much larger religious wedding in Santorini (one day I'll make it there myself!) but they told me they didn't have the best experience with their local photographer out there, which I was saddened to hear given the occasion. Then Vicky got in touch with me again with some amazing news.

Her and George were expecting a baby girl! She actually gave birth recently which is amazing, but beforehand Vicky really wanted to involve me again and planned a maternity session for her and George. Having never done a proper maternity session before I was thrilled to be asked, and really wanted to make the most of the time left before Vicky was due to give birth. They both live up in London and have a real love for the area around Richmond Park, so wanted to include it as much as possible.  This was a great idea as it's somewhere I've not really explored properly, so was eager to go and see what was there.

We had a real mixed bag when it came to the weather. Strong winds were definitely the order of the day, and this meant a real mix of sunshine and dark moody clouds! We even got a little rain at times too but thankfully it was short-lived. Needless to say Richmond Park is really beautiful and it would be great to come back again on my own sometime. There was a lovely little lake not far from the car park and a huge variety of scenery and wooded areas to work with. To round off the session we then headed to a nearby hillside with a great view out over London.
