Pontlands Park Hotel Autumn Wedding with Kyrus & Maddie

After a busy start to October, I was looking forward to things starting to wind down a little, which brings me to the last wedding of the 2021 season for me. I first met Maddie while she was manager of a theatre/wedding venue in my hometown. We were discussing ways to market us both and maybe put on a 'styled wedding shoot' as well. With Covid rearing its ugly head and Maddie then changing careers to now work in the NHS, those plans were sadly shelved. But she kept in touch, and I was thrilled when she and Kyrus booked me for their wedding day!

Just on the outskirts of Chelmsford, the stunning Pontlands Park Hotel has a real boutique feel to it. The grounds weren't massive, but still provided lots of opportunities for photos without the sense of wandering around forever. I once again had Warren helping out on the day, and he did a great job with Kyrus and the boys in the morning, while I was with Maddie and the girls in the lead up to the ceremony.

After tying the knot and some drinks, Kyrus & Maddie had what is probably one of the biggest and most dramatic confetti 'bombs' I think I've ever seen. It may have been all over in a heartbeat, but my gosh it looked sensational! We then found a clear patch of grass for some group photos, before I took the happy couple around the grounds for some photos of their own - including the cute bridge over the lake and out the front of the hotel (and some fun with Maddie's veil!)

Back in the marquee after the meal, the speeches once again didn't disappoint, with real belly laughs and some tears too as two families came together to celebrate the newlyweds. The best men, as usual, providing oodles of embarrassment for poor Kyrus. After the first dance, there was even a daddy/daughter and mother/son dance - something you don't see much these days - followed by a great rendition of the Candy Song, with everyone getting involved, even one guest on crutches!

Finally, to round off a pretty amazing day, we got what seemed like everyone outside for a sparkler 'exit' round the front of the hotel. What a sensational way to end the wedding day, and I wish them both the very best for their lives ahead.
