Lympne Castle Kent Countryside Spring Wedding with Greig & Sophie

Back in May I returned to the lovely Lympne Castle, this time with some help from Amy for the wedding of Sophie & Greig. The day began at a lovely little cottage along Stone Street, where Sophie and her bridesmaids (and mum!) were all getting ready, while everyone else made themselves at home at Lympne Castle ahead of the ceremony. There were definite Scottish hints at the wedding, with a bagpiper and some of the guys sporting some stylish kilts to celebrate Greig's heritage - and they all looked great! We were blessed with perfect conditions on the day and, although Amy and I only stayed until everyone sat down for dinner, it's fair to say we really captured the true essence of the occasion!

Sophie and her bridesmaids had booked the cottage through Airbnb to stay in the night before and to get ready in. It backed onto a farm and for most of the morning we had some very curious chickens watching through the patio doors! The big airy rooms made it the perfect place for photos of Sophie's dress, shoes and other details, all the while getting in some really natural photos of everyone getting ready. Not to mention some really cute ones of Sophie's daughter!

Just before the girls left, I headed over to the venue and caught up with Amy who had been working hard photographing the guests arriving, as well as Greig and the groomsmen ahead of the ceremony. Sophie and Greig got married in the West Wing of Lympne Castle, with its large bay windows flooding the wood-panelled ceremony room with light, as their families and guests looked on. Afterwards everyone headed outside into the courtyard for drinks before the confetti and group photos.

As we were short on time, I whisked Sophie and Greig away around the grounds for some lovely 'just married' photos of the two of them. This is a great chance to have a few moments to yourself during the wedding day. As Amy and I were only there until everyone sat down for the wedding breakfast, we had to make the time count, and ensure the couple got some amazing photos there and then.

The beauty of having another photographer on hand to help, is that we can multitask and get so much more done, which is especially useful for fast-paced weddings like this. It also means that you receive far more photos than you would otherwise do, which is great by anyone's standard!
