Lympne Castle Kent Winter Elegant Styled Wedding Photo Shoot

In the lull that many wedding photographers experience between their autumn and spring seasons, I organised a small styled wedding shoot at the beautiful Lympne Castle. A popular wedding venue overlooking the expansive Romney Marshes and the English Channel beyond, we had use of the facilities in a less busy time of year.

Our couple, Joe & Sarah, offered their Saturday to myself and a few other photographers, braving the cold and the wind outside to make the most of a relatively dry day in an effort to show off the beautiful buildings in an otherwise rather grey time of year.

After capturing a few of the traditional wedding 'details' like Joe and Sarah's shoes, some jewellery and the dress, we headed outside to get some rather dramatic and windswept photos in the grounds and around the side of the castle.

It wasn't long before the sun began to set, and we had set up a small seating/dining area in one of the wood-panelled functions rooms with a beautiful bay window. There was also several lit wood-burning fireplaces that were just crying out to be featured!

Finally there were a few 'first dance' photos in the great hall before heading back to that iconic bay window to finish with some lovely intimate photos of the two of them. Joe and Sarah are actually a real married couple who hadn't long been husband and wife when they volunteered for this shoot. They were even happy to use the dress and suit that they wore at their wedding - such a lovely touch!
