Jemma & Jamie live up in London and have their wedding next month, and they really wanted to take advantage of an engagement session beforehand, and to have it somewhere out in the countryside as a contrast to their usual surroundings. I've used Knole Park as a location for couples and engagement sessions many times before, as it's within easy reach for those in and around London as well as several home counties. It's a great open space with such huge variety of locations to use, not to mention a fairly large number of deer too!
Jemma & Jamie joined me at Sevenoaks Train Station before I drove us all to a side entrance to Knole Park which takes us right into the middle of this great open space on the border of Kent. It's full of long green promenades, imposing trees, ferns and wooded sections and of course lots of deer! We all had a great time exploring the area, especially as Jemma & Jamie has never been before. They were adamant they were going to come back later in the summer so it was great to show them a new area to explore more on their own.
I brought my tartan blanket with me as well - you may remember this from my engagement session here with Jess & Ash from a few years ago now. It provided a good prop and added a bit of colour to some of the photos, as a lot of the trees and woodland wasn't quite in leaf yet as spring wore on.
Engagement sessions provide the perfect opportunity to practice some poses and ideas ahead of the wedding, as well as get over any fearful or anxious feelings you may have about being in front of the camera before the big day. I think these two really took advantage of this opportunity and I'm sure they'll both be amazing together at their wedding soon! I can't wait.
