last September, Angela got in touch with me to arrange a couples portrait session with her husband Dave for their wedding anniversary. While they originally considered a coastal location, we eventually settled on the beautiful Kearsney Abbey near Dover, a place I know pretty well but they had never visited before, so it was a great new experience for them!
They were quite upfront about being a little camera shy, particularly as they, like most couples and families I work with, had never really had their photo taken professionally before. I always take the time to walk through my process in advance, and reiterated this again when we met before we got started.
Despite the park being quite busy, we still found it easy to find some quieter spots, which really helped with their confidence. After a little coaching and direction at the start of the session, Angela & Dave soon got into the swing of things, and before long their personalities really began to shine and come out. It was pretty evident they have a lot of love for each other, and were full of smiles and laughter as the session went by.
It just goes to show you that there are always plenty of good reasons to have a portrait session, and no matter how camera shy you think you are, by the end I can guarantee you'll be having a great time, just like Angela & Dave! If you'd like to book your own, head over to my portrait session page to find out more, or send me a message over on the contact page.
