The High Weald is a part of the country I know really well, having volunteered with Kent County Council for their DofE expeditions there many times over the years, so it was great to be back there again for Megan and Alasdair's engagement session. They opted to have the session in the gardens of Alasdair's parents' house, nestled between Ticehurst and Wadhurst. I was a little worried it might not offer enough variety at first, but upon arrival I knew it would be perfect!
With lots of hidden spots, a huge pond, spacious lawns and a tree swing, we were spoilt for choice with what to do during the session. Annoyingly we also had a few short rain showers to contend with, but Megan and Alasdair came prepared with a few umbrellas - so we incorporated them into the day as well.
I think they were most excited about getting on the tree swing, and I could sense the joy in their voices when I suggested it to them. Even adults can enjoy being a kid every now and again. Alasdair's parents were really kind in offering ideas and suggestions as well. It's not often I meet parents at engagement sessions, so it was a lovely change!
We had planned to also take a look at their wedding venue of Wadhurst Castle down the road from them, but sadly we couldn't on this occasion, but I can't wait to photograph their big day there later in the summer - I just know it's going to be an amazing day.
If you'd like to arrange your own engagement session, remember you can get a discount on one by booking one of my three 'full day' wedding collections.
