Kim is one of my oldest friends and I've known her since secondary school. In fact, she was part of the inspiration for me pursuing a photography career. She also has a special place in her heart for dogs, so when the reality of getting a puppy turned into bringing home Rusty the golden retriever puppy, she was quick to suggest a photo session with the him somewhere local.
Animals (especially quick ones) was a new genre for me at the time, but I have since launched my pet pawtrait mini sessions after the success of our time down the Folkestone Warren at dusk and sunset, together with Kim and her partner Jamie. Whilst I don't have a dog myself (yet - I'd love a border collie to call my own), I can see why so many people are just head over heels in love with them!
The warren is a beatiful spot along the coastline in Folkestone, nestled below the chalk cliffs. It's a great spot for walkers, dogs to run about, and finding treasure burried in the soft sand and surrounding scrubland.
We spent a fair while letting Rusty run around, getting some great action shots as well as some more 'sedate' ones too, but it was so worth it in the end and they came away with some great photos. If you’d like to make your pet a model for the afternoon or evening, check out my pet pawtrait mini sessions and get in touch for more information!
