It feels like such a long time since I've been able to get out and photograph people properly. While big weddings may be some time off yet, spring engagement sessions are now well and truly underway, with Liana and Tyler being my first couple to catch up with ahead of their wedding in early July at the Hythe Imperial. With Tyler being in the Army it was a little tricky to find a date when they were all free, but we eventually settled on the weekend after Easter for their engagement session.
As I live really close to Liana, we decided to go somewhere local, and a place I know really well. The Lower Leas Coastal Park is nestled right next to the seaside in Folkestone. With long winding paths, shady tree groves, tucked away spots and easy access down to the beach, it offered lots of opportunities and variety for us, and allowed me to capture some great photos of Liana and Tyler.
After a quick chat to catch up with their wedding preparations and a bit of a posing masterclass, we went and explored the park a bit more. Despite it being quite a chilly day, there were lots of people out and about, which made it tricky to find quieter places on this occasion.
It wasn't long before we headed down to the beach, with the pastel beach huts providing a great backdrop for a few photos, as well as the (relatively) calm waters of the channel as Liana and Tyler sat, chatted and cuddled on the pebbles. They even got a bit competitive with seeing who could throw stones into the sea the furthest.
As we were heading back to our respective cars, they told me they wanted to recreate something I did with Kelsey and Sam on their engagement session in Mote Park back in 2019, with Liana jumping and Tyler holding her round her waist for a kiss. Admittedly it took a few tried to get it right, but we got there in the end!
This was such a fun afternoon, and these two really were naturals by the end. I can't wait for their wedding in July - I just know it's going to be amazing! If you'd like to arrange your own engagement session, remember you can get a discount on one by booking one of my three 'full day' wedding collections.
