After a very busy late spring and summer in 2021, with weddings taking me across the Southeast from Hampshire to Essex, it almost felt strange to have a shorter day so close to home at the end of September (just a few days before my birthday as well! Luke & Natasha tied the knot at the Clifton Hotel in Folkestone along the Leas overlooking the English Channel. As they were not having a particularly large gathering, they opted for a more bespoke coverage option, which I was happy to accommodate seeing as I only lived a short drive away.
I arrived at the hotel not long before the ceremony, photographing guests arriving before Natasha herself turned up in the wedding car - her dad's Porsche Cayenne! Inside, Luke was getting some last minute words of encouragement from the best man, as guests sat down in anticipation of the ceremony. It wasn't long before the bridal party was entering, and the wedding began in earnest.
After the ceremony, there was drinks outside against the backdrop of the large gardens behind the hotel, and a chance for some confetti and group photos. Natasha really wanted to ensure hers and Luke's grandparents were involved and included here, which was a really nice touch! There was just time for some photos of the two before everyone sat down for some brief speeches.
I returned a few hours later for the second part of the coverage, with everyone enjoying the warm evening back outside for drinks. As the sun set, the music began, and everyone headed back inside to the dancefloor for a boogie before Luke & Natasha had their first dance. Luke also had a second dance with his mother (and ringbearer!) before the party really kicked off late into the night. With my short day over, I bid Luke & Natasha goodbye and headed back home after a great day by the sea.
