With the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Covid in early 2021, Clifford and Amber made the difficult decision to basically split their wedding day in two. They were adamant they were going to get married in the spring, even if it meant significantly scaling things down, as wedding receptions and large numbers were, for now, off the table. So with the intention to have a larger celebration later in the year with more people, as well as a blessing in place of a legal ceremony, they held their 'mini wedding' at Crondon Park Golf Club in Essex in late May.
To keep things simple, Amber decided to do her own hair and makeup, so bridal prep in the morning was pretty quiet and paired back compared to most weddings. I still wanted to capture some of her details though, so made sure to include those classic photos of the dress, shoes, perfume and flowers, as well as baby Marcus' adorable little outfit. Once she was dressed, her parents joined her for some lovely photos before the ceremony, and a waiting Clifford.
After the ceremony, there was just time for some group photos of the very close family who attended, before I took Clifford and Amber around the grounds for some 'just married' photos of the two of them. Sadly, as it was an active golf course, we had to keep out of the way of the players, so couldn't utilise some locations we had in mind. However, as the plan was to return here later in the year, we agreed to use some different spots around the venue for another round of photos then.
It may not have been the day Clifford and Amber had envisioned, and it lacked the attendance of their wider circle of friends and family, but it was still a special day for the two of them, and a pleasure to be there to document the day.
