The last couple of years has seen me return to Cooling Castle Barn a good 3/4 times, and It's fast becoming one of my favourite venues in Kent. On this gorgeously sunny June day, I was assisting Mykey Day Photography again for the wedding of Laura and Roberto, who opted for a bright and bold theme with sunflowers everywhere! These two were a real giggle and they had a great gang of bridesmaids and groomsmen on hand to make sure everyone was having a good time - from morning till night! Even the flower girls brought their cheeky smiles to bear. This was another great wedding at this simply stunning venue, and I'm looking forward to going there again in 2020 (at least once, as I have my own wedding there in November).
This was one of those weddings I knew was going to be a giggle from the moment I arrived. Right from the get go the sun was shining and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. There was a definite air of excitement in the bridal suite as the girls all got ready in their matching robes. Even the two flower girls were well-behaved (apart from blowing some raspberries at me!) To round off proceedings before the ceremony, the couple had written notes to each other, and Laura reading aloud her note from Roberto amongst the girls was a really touching moment - full of laughter and certainly a tear or two from mum!
The bridesmaids and flower girls made a stunning entrance to the ceremony, followed by Laura and her dad as they walked down the aisle to a patiently waiting groom. The laughs continued and the couple asked for the best man and maid of honour to be present on the dais during the vows and first kiss, which was lovely to witness!
Outside there was lots of cheers for the couple during the big group photos and the confetti tunnel as everyone was enjoying the summer sunshine. Inside the barn, the tables and decorations looked amazing, with touches of the theme everywhere. The sunflowers really added to the vibe and they looked great. The speeches didn't disappoint either, with a game of 'Mr and Mrs' to follow.
Making the most of the summer sunshine, the guests chatted and played outdoors well into the evening, until the first dance kicked things off in style! With everyone gathered around, Laura and Roberto stole the show, until Laura's dad joined in and had a great father-daughter dance before everyone else joined in on the dance floor. Finally it was time to throw the bouquet and I'm sure there were some guys hanging out ready to catch it!
What a great end to another great wedding, and I wish these two all the happiness in the world. If you'd like to start planning your own happily ever after, then check out my wedding collections here, or head over to the contact page to check if I'm free on your date.
