A few days after my last equine photo session with Emma & Abbi, I met up with Sarah in the middle of the Kentish countryside not far from Canterbury. Sarah also responded to my casting online and wanted to get some lovely photos of her and her rather handsome horse Austin. She's also good friends with Kerry-Ann, who I've used for makeup for a number of other photo sessions in the past. It was great to see Kerry-Ann again and, as before, she did a cracking job with Sarah's makeup before jumping right in and helping me with some additional lighting to really make our models for the day shine! Which was beneficial, as we were dodging the rain showers on this particular day, too!
After arriving to discuss the session with Sarah in the pouring rain, we were blessed with a gap in the weather and some gorgeous soft light to start with, as we got Austin used to all these strange people and some extra lighting in his field opposite Sarah's house. Austin was the perfect model, and there was certainly no shortage of stunning photos taken during the first half of the shoot!
After a while, we headed down the lane a little and found the edge of a corn field that, amazingly, had yet to be harvested! It was here that the sun came out a bit, and again we found some lovely backdrops for some photos with Sarah & Austin, before I asked them both to jump into the corn a little, to give that 'immersed in a field' look and feel - and there was even a few cute little kisses too. We had a great time, and Sarah came away with some amazing photos of her pride and joy enjoying the usual mixed summer weather.
