Canterbury Winter Couples Portrait Session with Mica & Claudiu

Every now and again I put out offers for free mini sessions for families and couples, and back in February I had the pleasure of meeting Mica and Claudiu for their free mini session in Canterbury. Mica originally got in touch to tell me their story and that they plan to marry later in the year with their nearest and dearest in a relaxed wedding in the South of France. For such a young couple is was really lovely to see how well-matched they are together, and how much fun they both have in their lives. The Westgate Gardens provided a lovely backdrop to their mini session and they were smiling ear to ear throughout. It's always great to meet new couples and share some beautiful photos with them.

It may have been cold but there was definitely warmth in the hearts of these two as we chatted and wandered around the Westgate Gardens. On the plus side they were pretty at ease almost from the start with my working style, but I still took the time to go over a few basic starting poses top give them both something to build on as we went. They weren't even phased by the members of the public stopping to watch either, which is always good, as it can be off-putting for some people!

With Canterbury being so busy for most of the year, it was good to get away from the main tourist hotspots, and the gardens provided a wealth of beautiful opportunities for some lovely photos of Mica and Claudiu. We even got a few glimpses of sunshine from time to time as well, which added a lovely warm glow on an otherwise overcast day.
