Kirsty and Darren are getting married in July 2019, and they opted to take me up on my recommendation to have an engagement session before the big day. It's something I always suggest to couples who book me for their wedding, for several reasons. First it's a great chance to talk more about their plans for the big day. Secondly I can teach them some poses that will no doubt come in useful when I do their wedding photos. And lastly and perhaps most importantly, they can dispel and get over any awkwardness a couple may have about having their photos taken. To be honest I didn't need to worry much about the last one, as Kirsty and Darren were pretty much in their own little world during their engagement session and simply oozed confidence all afternoon!
Kirsty and Darrren have booked their wedding at a vineyard in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex, but they had their hearts set on having their engagement session in nearby Arundel. The small town had real significance to them both, so I couldn't very well say no to their request - particularly as it meant I could explore a new part of the country with them in the process.
The impressive castle and grounds played centre stage during the afternoon, and we were blessed with some lovely sunshine too (though it was a bit windy at times, but we made do). We were certainly not short on incredibly beautiful locations to utilise: from shady benches to tree-lined paths and glasshouses. The love between the two of them was pretty evident, and it made for some really lovely and emotive photos.
After we had explored the castle, we headed back out and along a towpath beside the river for some great final images with the castle in the background, as well as amongst the vibrant and sun-lit reeds on the riverbank. It was lovely to spend some quality time with these two ahead of their wedding later in the summer, and I've no doubt that day will be even better!
If you'd like to book your own engagement session ahead of your big day, don't forget there are discounts to be had if you've already booked your wedding with me! Just get in touch and we can discuss your ideas and go from there.
